COQUINA CROSSING HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION
Minutes of March 9 , 2010
Tom Green opened the meeting at 7:00. The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Jack Ernissee, singing of God Bless America led by Bob Frank, accompanied by Bob Ong.
Bereavement: Don Sabatini reported for Barbara Stoner that there were two passings, Sandy Glittenburg (2/7) and Herb Schnellinger (2/18)
Minute’s: A motion was made by Mike Rothfeld, 2nd by Jack Ernissee and approved.
Treasurer’s report:
Bob Frank reviewed the budget report, noting “Inside the Gate” ads were paying for most of the cost; the Valentine’s Day Dance was also financially successful as ELS supplied most of the food; the ELS stock has been sold, and the band account had an outstanding bill from last year. The audit is complete and State and local taxes are being submitted. Motion to approve the budget was made by Pete Schulz, 2nd by Dick Rench and approved.
ELS report from Kathi Price and Renie: The pool heater is now being replaced with a new electric heater. The voting for the color scheme for the clubhouse will be closed on 3/5 at 5pm. One more neighborhood watch sign is coming and will be installed at the other entrance to the Woodlands. The profits from the sale of food at the Senior Expo Charity will go to the “Council on Aging”. The fire proofing material for the stage curtains has been ordered. Census training will be held in the arts and craft room on 4/27 through 4/30 from 8:30 until 5pm. The Blood Alliance collected 15 units. The next date is 5/20. A new circuit board is being installed for the gate.
Membership: Gwen Smolik thanked the 253 paid members and explained all the reasons others should pay their dues. She noted that our present board has a good relationship with ELS and the new property manager.
Social Director: Melinda Price mentioned that there was already a wait list for the St. Patrick’s Day event and to see Carol Elliott if you want to be placed on the wait list. Debbie Allen is the coordinator for the resident’s garage sale to be held on April 9th and 10th. Melinda also thanked Rich Bastedo and his group for the success of the Valentine Day Dinner Dance.
Unfinished Business: Tom Green reported that Kathi is considering “resale signs”
Residents Questions (Answers): Concerns were mentioned about speeding, the garbage fee, and posting of minutes on the web.
Event Announcements: Various announcements were made about future events that can be found on the “Shell Calendar”.
Commissioner Bryan: was introduced by Charlie Gascoyne and spoke about the upcoming census on April 1, 2010.
